Roermond, the city on the river the Roer, dates back to Roman times, meaning that the Limburgian bishop city knows a rich history. Many monumental buildings, imposing churches and beautiful squares adorn the city centre of Roermond. The main charactericstics of Roermond are the gothic Sint Christoffel Cathedral, dating back from the 15th century, and the 13th-century Munsterkerk.
